Welcome to the new family website just in time for Mothers Day!
There has been major changes, this began as a small project for my Father Jim`s 83rd birthday and is now so much more than just a website for the Andreassend Family in New Zealand. Its time to expand it to include the wider Norwegian families. Four regions each with their own culture, history, stories and families. All to be added in the coming months New Zealand is virtually as far away from Norway as one can go, back in the 1800`s it was a one way trip, never to return, all contact was lost and was till now the end of my Norwegian Heritage. Both of my great grandparents have connections with Norway , Albert from the Arctic North departing about 1891 and Hannah`s mother from Telemark, in the Southern part of Norway immigrating in 1867. |
Stamsund Albert Andreassend was born in Stamsund in Lofoten his father Andreas Buvarp came from Beitstad, Nord-Trøndelag county and mother Elizabet Enoksdatter was born on Engeløya in Steigen. Andreas married Ingeborg Pettersdatter from Kvæfjord, Troms Lofoten
Åmotsdal Hannah was born in Dunedin New Zealand her mother Kjersti Sneie came from Åmotsdal in Seljord. Her father John Clark was born in Bristol in England Thanks to everyone that have encouraged, contributed and most of all enjoyed reading about their Heritage, Culture and Family History.
