His birth records are included in the Solberg Parish Register and shows the Domicile as being Aas Farm. At some time before 1870 he had moved to the fishing village of Stamsund along with his brother Daniel and Johan probably attracted by the work of Cod Fishing a lucrative industry in the 1800`s and the first half of the 20th Century, where cod spawned during the winter months attracting hundreds of fisherman. Andreas first son Albert Marelius was born in 1870 to Elizabeth Enoksdatter, however they never married and two years later he married Ingeborg Petterdatter in her home town of Kvæfjord in Troms . In the 1875 Census the family consisting of Andreas, Ingeborg, Albert and his sister Henrietta are living on the island of Tornholmen just out from the village of Stamsund. Traces of a house can still be seen on satellite images. The surnames still use the old patronymics conventions. ie fathers name and sen (son) or datter (daughter) 1/ The next census in 1900 shows the family increase to 7 children including Albert and had moved to Aasbakken Domicile in Svarholt in Stamsund. All the family are now named Danielsen. 2/ Albert is not in the census as he is now married (3 January 1900) and living in New Zealand. 3/ Andreas died in 1929 in Svarholt and is buried with his wife in the Skifjord Cemetery in Stamsund. 4/ Svarholt today is still a tiny community adjacent to Stamsund, probably similar in size in the late 1800`s , both Elizabeth and Andreas lived within walking distance of each other all their lives, Albert was two when Andreas and Ingeborg were married, judging by the customs of the day it can be assumed that he was then living with them shortly after the marriage. Elizabeth would have seen Albert grow up, I wonder what sort of relationship if any they would have had? Note Andreas cemetry details list his midddle name as Darius. |

grandparents didn't own the whole Buvarp farm; they were cotters in a small place called "Buvarptrøa", later "Litltrøa". Their farm is now
deserted. According to my source, Daniel Andersson Buvarp was born in 1817 and died in 1892. He was married to Henrikka
Henriksdatter Tverås (another farm), born 1818, died 1899.
